Advanced PANS-OPS training provides foundational knowledge for designing instrument flight procedures based on ICAO Doc 8168 (PANS-OPS), focusing on obstacle clearance, departure, arrival, and approach segments (precision, 3-D and non-precision) using PBN navigation.
Learning outcomes
Having completed the course, the student should be familiar with PBN concepts and be able to design RNP-APCH procedures, including Baro VNAV and SBAS approaches.
A final examination covering both theoretical knowledge and practical application evaluates each student.
Prerequisites
Attendees must have completed a basic PANS-OPS training course from a reputable institute.
The language of instruction is English. Attendees must be proficient at least to CEFR Level B2, STANAG 6001 Level 3, or ICAO Level 4.
Each trainee shall be equipped with their own material to properly conduct exercises (paper, calculator, protractor, …)
Method of instruction
In-person classroom instruction combined with practical exercises, including homework.
Duration
Approximately 70 classroom hours.
