Instrument flight procedures are critical for the safety of flights. It is therefore imperative that their quality be assured and controlled according to appropriate, exacting standards. This course provides an introduction to the fundamentals of quality management and an overview of the applicable quality assurance frameworks pertinent to flight procedure design.
Learning outcomes
Having completed this course, attendees should understand the basics of quality management and be familiar with the current quality frameworks and best practices associated with instrument flight procedure design.
Prerequisites
Attendees are expected to be in current practice as flight procedure designers, airspace designers, charting, or database coding.
The language of instruction is English. Attendees must be proficient at least to STANAG 6001 Level 3 or ICAO Level 4.
Method of instruction
In-person classroom instruction. Lectures followed by practical exercises and debrief.

Approximately 30 hours, including theory and practical exercises.
